Are There Really Natural Ways to Stop Panic Attacks?

If you suffer from panic and anxiety attacks, you’ve probably spent what seems like days in front of a computer searching for an alternative to common panic treatments. Have you had any luck? For the longest time I didn’t until I found a hidden gem of a concept.

I’ve been dealing with panic attacks since I had my first one nine years ago. At first I was on medication which did help, but left me feeling nauseous most of the time and very sleepy. For awhile I thought I would have to choose the lesser of two evils, and I was okay with dealing with the side-effects that come from panic medication. As time went by, I decided my panic was well enough that I could try coming off the medication, but shortly after the attacks returned.

That’s the problem with medication. It’s not really a cure, it’s a band-aid that only covers the problem, and never really solves it. Coping techniques are similar in that respect. They help you manage your attacks, but never really get to the source. Therapy can be very expensive, and those prescription bills can pile up month after month.

After searching for a really long time, I read about most of the natural cures. I tried St. John’s Wort, and other herbal remedies, but I really didn’t notice a difference. The attacks still came, and I was still anxious most of the time.

That’s when I discovered a concept that was so unique, after reading about it I felt: “This is it.” You see, for people that suffer from constant panic attacks, the biggest fear is actually having the panic attack itself. If you think about this as a cycle you can see how easy it is to be caught in it. You have an attack, fear having another, which just leads to having more. It’s that anxiety loop that traps us in a vicious circle.

So how do you break that loop? As simple of a concept as the anxiety loop is, it’s not as easy as it seems. The key is to use methods and techniques designed with that loop in mind. But if you are able to break that loop, you can diffuse a panic attack before it even begins.
